Our dental services help protect teeth and promote oral health through professional care and education to children and adults. Our screening, treatment and referral services ensure you and your family receive high-quality dental care. Treatment is not guaranteed on the day of the initial exam.

Dental Clinic

South Central Health District Children’s Dental Clinic provides dental screenings for Early Head Start Centers throughout our ten-county service area, as well as dental health education programs for preschools and schools. The clinic focuses on prevention, screening, treatment, and oral health education for children ages 0–18, offering dental services on-site to provide comprehensive care in one convenient location. The most common dental problems affecting children are tooth decay, gum disease, and malocclusion, and many of these conditions are preventable. Early diagnosis and timely treatment can relieve pain, prevent infection, and stop the progression of oral disease, helping children maintain healthy smiles for years to come.

Emergency Adult Dental Services

The dental clinic now provides emergency dental care and oral health education to adults. Our expert staff provides range of services that includes:

  • Dental screenings
  • X-Rays
  • Extractions

Payment Information

We accept Medicaid, Amerigroup, Peach State, WellCare and Caresource. Payment is expected at the time of service for self-pay patients.

Take Care of Your Teeth

  • Cavities are preventable with proper dental care.
  • We recommend that parents schedule their babies for their first dental visit once the first baby teeth are visible in the mouth.
  • Brush teeth and gums with fluoride toothpaste, and floss at least twice a day.
  • Visit the dentist twice a year for regular checkups.
  • Practice healthy eating habits and avoid foods/drinks high in sugar (i.e. candy, soda, energy drinks, etc.)

Infants and toddlers need to see a dentist by age one or as soon as the first tooth appears.
