Dental Clinic
South Central Health District Children’s Dental Clinic provides dental screenings for Early Head Start Centers in our ten-county service area, dental health education programs for pre-schools and schools. The clinic focuses on prevention, screening and referral, treatment, and oral health education for children aged 0-18. The most common dental problems that children have are dental decay, gum disease, and malocclusion; most of these problems are preventable. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment can eliminate pain, infection, and progressive oral diseases.

- Oral cancer screenings
- Oral hygiene education
- X-Rays
- Fluoride varnish
- Dental sealants
- Referrals to obtain restorative care
- Referrals for third molar or wisdom teeth evaluations
- Referrals to other child health services
Infants and toddlers need to see a dentist by age one or as soon as the first tooth appears.
The Children’s Dental Clinic accepts all Medicaid Dental Insurances (Peach State, DentaQuest, CareSource & Medicaid/Disability) and offers a sliding fee scale for children without dental insurance coverage.
